Just read that Cookie Gilchrist of the old AFL Buffalo Bills died yesterday of cancer at age 75. I remember when he first came up to the Bills in 1962. He was the AFL's version of Jim Brown, virtually impossible for one man to stop. In 1963, he gained 243 yards rushing against the Jets, a record at that time, and scored 5 touchdowns.
