The former Oakland Raider defensive end died last night in Alameda, CA., where he was being treated for prostate cancer. He was 72. Davidson was one of the key figures of the Raiders' "renegade" reputation and was the instigator of an on-field brawl with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1970 when he speared Len Dawson after Dawson had run for a game-clinching first down. After football, Davidson was in several Miller Lite ads and had some bit parts as an actor.
