I think so but that's what happens when you sign a contract
People pay good money to see you do your best! Not effing clowning around and pissing away the fight and the belt.
If you had lost doing your best...fine...that's what we show up to see. But, to lose that way....just aggravating.
If you don't want to be the champ anymore...RETIRE!!!! That would have been preferable to watching you lose when you are disrespecting your opponent, the sport, and the fans
He was egging Weidman on like he wanted him to rise to the occasion.
At the end he said he was tired. I guess of the pressure of being the champ.
I think he threw the fight or knew he woud lose in a 5 round decision.
He made it TOO easy for Weidman.

Kim Jong Un and calling him his new friend.
silva has LONG BEEN KNOWN to taunt his opponents in the middle of the match. it has been part of his dominance, the mental edge he carried over everyone. look at his KO of forest griffin years back. he was taunting him, hands down, baiting griffin into attacking with no regard for defending himself and BOOM...1 little punch and griffin was dropped. silva has been widely called one of the biggest dicks in UFC for a while, so "disrespecting the opponent" is nothing new.
he is also OLD as fuck now. he doesn't compete as often ( so it seems, maybe facts will prove me wrong) over the last couple of years as he once did, so I know he isn't in the best shape of his career.
I think this is just another case of a man that was WAAAAYYYY too cocky, getting what he had coming to him. lets not forget CHAEL SONNEN fucked him up, only to beat himself by getting caught right near the end of the last round. silvas physical advantage left him a while back, and Weidman just so happened to be up to the mental game as well.
all of that being said, this just proves what I have been saying for 3 years almost....JON BONES JONES is the best UFC fighter out there. and it isn't close. congrats on a great career mr. silva, but your time is up. ride off into the sunset as a top 5 all time mma fighter, one could argue #1 all time. but its over, and last night was just the final nail in a coffin that has been there for a couple years now.
Hey Kweezy,
Didn't Silva sign a 10-fight deal with UFC? He ain't riding off anywhere but to his next payday in the octagon.

he did, so therefore he isn't "riding off"...but he stated no interest in a rematch or in chasing the title again. he knows he is no longer in a class of his own. he just wants some good ole fashion wwe squash matches to finish his career off. he wont want to tarnish his reputation anymore than this fight did, but if by some miracle he does lose again...he will hang em up before he even gets out of the octagon. silva isn't leaving just yet, but the REAL silva, hes long gone
weidman in his prime but he's not in his prime.
that was not him doing his schtick, that was him trying to get knocked out. if he would have done it in the first round it would have looked even more suspicious.

Silva has won many fights by doing the same thing , frustrate his opponent
before attacking .
Silva's biggest problems last night , he played cocky with the wrong guy .
Silva would never take blows like that on purpose . His eyes rolled back after the first punch .
Plain and simple , Silva underestimated Weidman's punching power .
Weidman was supposed to be a wrestler .

a focused, bruised ego carrying silva should win. if he doesn't, he needs to QUIT
Anderson is a good fighter but he underestimated his opponent and got caught. Who knows maybe he'll fight GSP or Jon Jones next.
