Remember a few weeks ago when we were about to write the Sox off for the year? Well, they've won 11 of the last 14 and are only 5 games behind the Rays. Granted, the playoffs will be a push, since they're in 4th place in the East. Still, they can still make it an interesting race, especially if/when they get Beckett back.

... and only 2 1/2 back for the WC right now. Certainly in the race for a playoff spot.

Not a Red Sox fan but if rooting for them means keeping the Yankees out of the playoffs, I will be happy.

I also think the Yankees and Devil Rays will cool off a little and give the Sox a chance to gain ground with head to head match ups.

and only 2.5 games out, rays are falling fast, just trade for cliff lee and season is over.
