Sam was never the same after his leg problems started even while he was still at UK. When he got there his shooting range was all the way out to about 20 feet or so. But, he never got that back after missing so much time due to injuries. Even as a UK fan I was stunned when he got drafted so high.
He's a good guy and lives in the Lexington area.
