My thinking was along these same lines for quite some time.  I even hinted at the high probability that Lebron would not come to the Bulls within this forum a few weeks ago for this exact reason.

But as I sit here, dwelling in the afterglow of the Hawks' Stanley Cup victory, I am beginning to think that this town does not expect dominance from its sports teams, as if it is some inalienable right (see Yankees, Lakers, Celtics, et al.).  If it were to occur, we would definitely embrace it.

I think it is shortsighted to think that somehow because Lebron has yet to win a Championship his internal drive is lacking.  Who are we to judge that?  Only he can fully assess that ...

A year an half ago, this city got another gifted athlete early in their career (Jay Cutler).  Was/is there prssure on him?  Sure.  Did he win this past year?  Hell no.  But at the end fo the day, we still have Jay Cutler.  Does he want to win?  Badly.  Will he?  Time will only tell.

This city also knows about losing ... we don't need to go there.

This city knows about winning, and I think we are beginning to realize that was a long time ago.

Bring Lebron here ... let's start to do it all over again.

Here in Chicago we have an ascerbic and quite intelligent columnist, John Kass (front page, not sports).  Today he did a piece on Lebron coming to Chicago -- suggesting with irony that maybe the pressure here will be too much for #23 (I mean #6).  I don't think anyone would argue that LeBron could use more competitive fire.  But if you want LeBron to pass on Miami, does this kind of article make sense?  Your thoughts?

rest of his career, no matter where he plays. But I don't think he realizes just how much pressure there will be in Chicago if he goes there.

There are so many offers for Lebron right now and he is loving every minute of this. Also, he is  going to milk all the publicity that he can out of it.

But I do know there have been some hefty offers and I personally  hope he goes to Miami. But that is because I LOVE Pat Riley!!!! And I want to see him coach again. ;)

I hope all of you have a Happy and Safe 4th of July weekend!!
