I know all you NFL fans wanted to see brother vs brother but that's never going to happen. My 2 cents say that Peyton is out of Indy and out of the AFC. I thinks he goes to Arizona, Seattle or San Francisco. This means that the brothers can only meet up in the NFC championship game at best.
I would like to see him go to the Raiders, but that's on a Santa Clause wish list. Don't know if there is an AFC team on the cusp of winning that already doesn't have a established QB. And no, the Jets are ready to implode and San Diego is still has Rivers, but stuck (and going backwards) with Norv Turner.
Favre was at the end or the guy you bring in to help develop a youngster. Harbaugh is plenty capable of developing a young QB and Smith has already proved he's a gamer. I don't see him going out West all. Who knows, maybe the Dolphins if they'll go out and buy some guys to block for him.
Neck surgeries are not something to mess around with and take lightly. Itwould have been nice if he could have left the Colts gracefully, but that ship has already sailed. I know Tennessee has Matt Hasselbeck, but it would be a PR coup if Peyton went to Nashville. Season ticket sales would go through the roof, and he'd be in the same division as Indy. It'll probably never happen, but imagine the possibilities.
I told my friend at the beginning of the season that Peyton would probably not play again. I said the same thing about neck surgery. It's not like its a ankle or arm. Surgery is usually the last option for anything that has to deal with your spine. Then, when you add into the equation that they had to go back into the same area during the season, I was pretty sure he was going to retire. I mean he really doesn't have anything to prove, and didn't his older brother have the same problem, which is why he could not play football?
I don't see him in SF. It would be a lot of dollars and they have a pretty good prospect who is becoming seasoned. SF needs to spend the development dollars on offensive line or secondary talent, somewhere but not QB.
Providing Payton is cleared to play I could see him at the Jets, AZ maybe even Vikings. I think the Jets is an outside shot and slim at the Vikings.
If he is not cleared to play look for him to become a QB coach somewhere or on TV. Sound strange, maybe, but he loves football, likes to work.
