Even though I am a Packer fan and like that we have Aaron Rodgers for another 10years but if you listened to the top5... He said basically the same stuff about each! I guess this is his segment to stoke the fire for the upcoming NFL season!
Considering his age and that he's in his prime, he is clearly the best right now. Not to mention, strong arm, and his mobility is over looked.
We could argue all day about who's #1. To me, they're almost interchangeable. What I find interesting is the gap between the top 5 qb's and the guys at the bottom of the list. The guys at the bottom, really handicap their team when it comes to getting to the championship
Yes, there isn't much difference between the top 5, Peyton's injury concerns aside. Each has his own unique strengths and weaknesses that set him apart from the others.

Number 5 is a difficult choice, Big Ben, Falcco, Peyton. It's probably fair to discount Peyton because of his lack of playing time. But if that's the case you can also discount Cam Newton for the same reason. Not much playing time. Become a top five QB in the NFL in two years of play. Maybe we should move Luck into the top five.
For me you have to have 5 years in the NFL to make the top 5 of anything. You level out strength of schedule, injuries, next man up and the bounce of the ball or luck.
cam broke nearly every rookie qb record. he set the overall qb record for rushing tds. he is michael vick as a runner, yet with the toughness of big ben and size of culpepper. he can throw the ball very well, not all time great passer, but VERY good. he did enough to go 10-6 last year, but the defense blew several games for him. i know, you lose as a team, but if he put up 45 points, and led for 3 quarters, my qb did his job. peyton isnt a lack of playing time, its the injury that caused him to miss the time. cam isnt hurt, or coming off injury.
brees has 2 of the top 5 ALL TIME passing yard marks for a season and the BEST 2 ALL TIME seasons as far as completion %. he set the records for BOTH last year. 5400 yards on a record % is amazing. he also led the league in tds last year. rodgers won his mvp ONLY because mark ingram didnt score that td on the last play of week 1. if he had scored, both teams are 14-2 and brees has the head to head win AND all the better stats.
he also has NEVER had a wr as good as reggie wayne, marvin harrison, wes welker, randy moss, etc. the best he has had is marquis colston.
as for the other qbs you named...i have big ben at 6. but he has had a GREAT defense his whole career, as well as hines ward, mike wallace, and several very good running back. peyton is somewhere in the top 10 right now. but where do you put an old guy that missed all of last year hurt, on a new team without all of his old toys? flacco sucks. baltimore wins in spite of him. romo, vick, rivers, and schaub are all better than him easily.

Rodgers is the only player in NFL history to throw for over 4,000 yards in his first two years as a starter. And he had the greatest touchdown to interception ratio of All Time last year, 46 TD's and only 6 int's.
He's better than Brees and Eli, no doubt. Brady is Brady.
If you think Rodgers is the 4th best QB in the league right now, you obviously don't know anything about football.

If you read my post I said it's Rogers #1 and Brady #2 OR Brady #1 and Rogers #2.
Rogers was voted #1 by his peers for a great year. And I think he deserved it, don't have a problem with that. But in my mind I could still place Brady as #1, they are very close. Perhaps in five years Rogers will be two steps ahead of Brady, or one behind.
Here is what I really think:
There is three tiers of active QB's in the NFL.
Tier One: Rogers, Brady, Brees, Eli, Big Ben
Tier Two: Falcco, Payton, Vic, Maybe Newton (more on potential than body of work)
Tier Three: Everyone else.
Order of names dose not indicate rank within Tier. Within each tier who is best is open for discussion. I think it would be very difficult but not impossible to be in Tier One without a Super Bowl ring. However, having said that, having the most rings will not insure your overall rank to "#1". It would definitely indicate you played on a damn good team for several years.
As for my knowledge of football. I know enough to enjoy the game and call myself a fan. As a fan I'm entitled to an opinion on anything concerned to the game. My opinion may or may not be right. You as a fan have the same rights.
Consider this:
If we all agreed on everything about football, they wouldn't have to play the damn game. Thank God we all have different opinions.

why dont you LEARN the facts, in the nfl, you can cut ANYONE at any point in their contract, without penalty. nfl contracts are basically written on toilet paper, they are only good for 1 year, anything after that ISNT promised to actually happen. yes, SOME money is guaranteed up front, but a small percentage. they would not have paid him 20 million if they cut him. if rodgers was the better choice, thats what they would have done. favre took them to the nfc championship and a 13-3 record, the next year, rodgers misses the playoffs with THE SAME TEAM.
