That Y.E. was written as the first Asian to win a major. Isn't the African-American Tiger half Asian??? Why do people always forget about Momma's blood?

He was simply outplayed and this guy made the shot when Tiger did not.

He also won the Honda Classic this year.
It is not the first time he held off Tiger either. He held him off in 2006 at the HSBC championship.

It was a masterful performance by Yang, especially on the 18 hole.

is not invincible, and it's good for golf, particularly in Asia.

Ive been real tired of watching his coronations...year after year with no one consistently challenging him.
I hope this is the start of a trend ..
Oh, has anyone but me noticed Tiger Woods just does not seem happy at all these days?
No matter what situation he is in on the golf course..he just grimaces, swears to himself after marginal or bad shots and goes to the next shot. When he makes a good shot, there is not much of a reaction.
He projects an aura of "this is just really really hard" and he is not enjoying in his accomplishments or talent any more.....I also noticed Saturday and Sunday he repeatedly left the green before his playing partner had completed his play..this in not considered good golf manners.
Too bad on all counts...

Tiger has not won a major since his second kid...

Wife is on his ass every day... "Why are you traveling so much? When are you coming home? Why do I have to take care of the kids all the time? I need a break! You get to go all over the world - why can't I? When do I get to travel without the kids? Why can't YOU stay home with the kids once in a while, so I can travel? etc..."

but those that think his home life has effected his game are WAY off base.

Ummmmmmm.....4 wins this season, including some very prestigious tournaments. Yeah, hard to believe that he did not win a major.....but give me a break! Any other player would kill to have his record "after his 2nd child was born".

Golf is an insanely fickle sport. Tiger did not sink a single putt on Sunday. Some days are just like that. I am a 9 handicap and I just beat my buddy who is scratch. Guess what. Should not happen but it does.

Does anyone here think Tiger will not pass Jack in Majors or Sneed for total wins? If you do not believe that you are watching the best that ever lived, seek immediate professional help. :)

Sorry OCSir but Tiger could not hold Jack's umbrella if they played even up and Jack was in his prime. I'll take Jack with his persimmon drivers and fuzzier greens in his day. You wanna give me Jack with today's modern technology and impeccable course conditions then I'll double the bet.
Jack had 19 second place finishes in majors. He had actual, real good players for competition. He had guys like Palmer, Trevino, Player and Watson, to name just a few, battling him his whole career. He was always in contention, even more so after becoming a father himself.
Yes Tiger has put together some of the greatest golf ever played. Winning a US Open by 15 shots is unheard of. But he has done it in an age of the 24 hour news cycle, where the media tends to overexpose and glorify his exploits. His level of competition is far below that of Nicklaus'.
Tiger will pass both Nicklaus and Snead. But I sure need to see more out of him, especially in Ryder Cups, to convince me otherwise that he is the better player than Jack Nicklaus.

Gary Player was the first African born player to win a major.....Probably even the first African-American to win one....depends on when he moved to the States.

CBS wouldn't bother with this stuff - just concentrate on the golf.

I am sick of hearing about the first (insert minority) to win (insert sporting event). I also don't care about how many of any particular minority actually play the sport. Like the asinine comments by Gary Sheffield about blacks in baseball.
