There was a newspaper report today that Bud Selig said he would "consider" adding a round to the MLB playoffs, possibly as early as next season. Really? The World Series will spill into the first week in November now andc if it goes back to San Francisco, well, have you ever been in San Francisco in November? I can see it now; the 2011 World Series opener between the Phillies and Yankees will be played on 15 November!!

play a 1 game playoff to see who faces the top seed.  This would mean the best the WC could do was throw their #2 (assuming they use #1 in the WC playoff game) against the #1 seed's ace.

Check the 2011 MLB schedule on MLB.com.  The regular season starts on March 28 or 29.
