Not taking anything away from either the Rangers or the Yankees, but I think the NL has stronger pitching this year. I think either San Francisco or Philly can beat either the Rangers or the Yankees. They just have some awsome pitchers on both their staffs.

Great game tonight. Somehow I don't think we will see half as many runs in tomorrows match up between Roy Halladay, with both a perfect game in the regular season AND a no hitter in the playoffs, squaring off against "The Freak" Tim Lincecum who's last start was a two hit shutout with fourteen K's against my Braves.

If the line shifts just a hair, we could see the betting line on the total move to under six runs for the first time that I can rembember, right now the line on the total is six runs with the under minus 125. The bookies obviously think we are in for a pitchers duel.

I think I am going to leave the baseball game alone tomorrow and concentrate of NCAA football. If someone held a gun to my head I would take the plus 154 with the over six plus 105, just for the price I would get, but since no one is holding a gun to my head, I think I will just enjoy the game for free. lol;

You might have a good line-up with your $206..? million payroll but I think you can put this one almost entirely on the Rangers' bullpen.

A lad from my hometown was backup catcher for Jonny Bench I think for 12 years. He was every bit as good as Bench, except he blinked. Yea, he blinked on foul tips. The great catchers don't. They see the ball all the way which allows them to catch foul tips and on the third strike that's an out. If it's in the air over there head they see how it leaves the bat and know which way to turn. In the first stride they throw the mask in the opposite direction. If the ball is in play there under it and make the out. Over the course of 162 games a catcher will  play 145 games plus or minus with on average 2.5 tips a game and 89% caught that could be 322 outs. R. Halladay for 2010 had  219 strikeouts, 21 wins.

The great ARod made an error tonight with the ball off his glove and thru the wickets. God it was fun to see the multimillion Great Yankee third baseman miss one like that. If the manager and coaches said anything on the error it would have been, "He didn't blink." Yea, that's right "HE DIDN'T BLINK."  He moved to his right and was in front of the ball. He made two other plays, one the ball bounced up hit him in the chest, he picked it off the ground and he fired to first for the out. The third play he fielded the ball cleanly in front of him and fired to first. Not blinking for a third baseman is; first move your feet to charge the play keeping  the ball in front of you. Any damn fool can pick the ball up off the ground and throw it to first base.

M. Young for Texas made a playing error tonight which went a long way in costing  the Rangers the game. I don't know if it was scored an error but it would be classified as a playing error. Sharply hit ball and he went down on one knee and waved his glove hand at the ball and bye bye to the win. He should have moved to the play and tried to block the ball even if he knew he couldn't field it cleanly. Only players who don't blink can make that play.

Those Damn Yankees pay all that money for really good players and then they expect them to win. But it's the coaches, scouts and managers in the organization who spot the talent. They look for players who don't blink at there poistion. They know ARod will make another error somewhere down the line, but there pretty sure he won't blink.

And I would have loved to see the Rangers win.

Nolan Ryan's a good guy as  I remember. I'm guessing he doesn't wear the same size underware any longer. Talking this week with some sports writers and stock market types all concur Yankees taking it in the 6th. Lee make be tough.

The game last night to me was like great sex that all of a sudden got even greater!!!!!!!

JL, I would imagine you're talking about Bill Plummer who backed up JB for years and years. No shame in backing up perhaps the greatest catcher ever!

I don't see any reason for Yankee fans to get all cocky for winning a freakin ONE RUN GAME! It's not like they kicked the crap outta the Rangers. Glad to see my boy Gardner start the big rally!

I was really just commenting on the game within the game. The little things the camera dosen't really show that make the game so interisting. The slide play at first in the eight that started everything would be a good example. That could have been an out with a pitcher who knows how to play his position.

Errors are an interesting part of the the game, and some time they become the game. And then there are time when they become bigger than life, (Bill Buckner). The errors last night wern't of that maganitude but they were of interest I think.

Yea, He wasn't born in my home town but lived there during high school, I think. My sister knew more about the family and he was older than me. But I remember everyone say he was Jonny Bench's backup.
