Sandusky does a live interview with Bob Costas, and admits to taking showers with boys, engaging in "horseplay" and may have touched their leg.  But he's no pedophile.  So....what kind of lawyer would advise a client to do something this dumb?
Answer: one who impregnated a 17-year-old girl a few years back.

why is he still allowed to practice law? Surely the state bar would know about that. Just when you think it can't get any more sickening......

Unless Sandusky blindsighted his attorney through these admissions (which I don't believe is the case), his lawyer was a complete fool for allowing him to partake in this interview. He basically allowed his client to hang himself. These admissions (and its an easy leap to conclude that Sandusky engaged in vile/heinous acts with the young boys) will surely be used against him in trial. It's a virtual slam dunk for the prosecution.

The only reason to allow an interview at this stage would be for Sandusky to vehemently deny these and all other charges and have him be completely outraged, hurt and disgusted by the thought of ever engaging in any inappropriate behavior with a minor. Sandusky should have been crying throghout the interview, articulating the charitable work of his foundation and how hard he has worked over the years to help and not hurt children. Instead, he laughed on two occassions (why would you EVER laugh during an interview on this subject is beyond me) and admitted to frolicking/horseplay and inappropriate touching.

Sandusky and his lawyer are angling for a plea deal knowing they have him dead to rights. Most DA's would rather make a deal than take a case like this to court and drag PSU and the state thru something like this.

I say we have no idea who all the players are at this point. Mike McQueary now says he stopped the rape and did talk to the police. That kind of changes things. If it's true they fire Joe P and put Mike on admin. leave. I'll bet it's paid leave. He may have done the right thing and got swept aside by bigger people.

I agree that the interview was poor move. Now the state does not have to put Sandusky at the crime scene, he admits it, and that he was naked, and that he was showering with one boy. But lets not forget that the victims will have to take the witness stand and describe the event. Some of these kids are 18-22 now??  or younger?? Could be very difficult to tell the tale in front of the world. Plea deal will come down -- especially if the Penn State politics are as thick as they look.

Except as provided in section 3121 (relating to rape), a person commits a felony of the second degree when that person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant under the age of 16 years and that person is four or more years older than the complainant and the complainant and the person are not married to each other.

Sounds like you're saying that in PA it's OK for a 30 yr old dude to knock up a 14 yr old, as long as they're married.  Wow.  I guess there are more back woods parts to PA than I realized.
