There's a report on ESPN.com that the Braves and Chipper met to discuss his future. He has admitted that retirement has been on his mind for the last few years. Insuries started nagging at him in 2004 and he's hitting below .230 this year. I have to admit that it's painful to watch him at the plate these days. I would rather he do what Ken Griffey Jr. did and retire now, rather than see him continue to struggle. He has nothing left to prove.
