The American League was obviously severely weakened by the large no. of Yankees on the roster, which made them easy pickings for the conquering Nationals-Rumor already has it the NL has petitioned Bud Selig to play the International Leaguers in next year's All Star tilt so they can have some competition-----lol      1rob......victory is sweet....out    8-)

it's nice to see the NL win 3 in a row.

It seems this All-Star game is about the rookies, specifically Trout and Harper. They are both talented kids, but all the so-called pundits are overlooking Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins. Hell, who follows the Marlins, and the only reason I follow him and the Marlins is that there are multiple kids on that team from Southern Calif.

I've never seen a player hit the ball harder than Stanton. He was selected to the All-Star game and was going to participate in the HR derby, but unfortunately is out for the next 4 weeks after his knee was scoped yesterday.

So 1rob, Trout or Harper, or Stanton if you check out some of his work. Here is an example

It's a joke the winner of the All Star Games decides home field for the World Series.

C'mon Bud, the best record during the regular season should decide that! And yes, I'm well aware of why the rule was installed in the first place, because of the tie a few years ago. Still a terrible idea to have such a rule in place.

Perfect example, last year the Rangers got screwed by not having game home field, the Cardinals had it instead, and they had a .530 winning percentage last year.

I agree; best record gets home field in WS. Fans should not vote, only broadcasters, sports reporters, etc.  Otherwise ASG is just a popularity contest.

of streaks since its inception in the 30's-the AL won 8 of the first 10; 4 in a row from 46-49; 3 in a row from 57-59; 6 in a row 88-93; and 12 in a row with the 1 tie from 97 to 2009-the NL won 6 of 7 from 50-56; a staggering 25 0f 27 completed games-1 was a rainout-from 59 to 1982-2 games were played some years to boost the pension fund-and 3 in a row now-
thanks for the clip on Stanton-I must admit I don't follow the Marlins and my ardor for the National Pastime has ebbed as it has evolved into 10 minutes of action crammed into 3 hours-Trout and Harper look like surefire HOF'ers barring injury-
I agree that the team with the best record should have home field advantage and not based on an all star game-a numbnuts way to do things in my view-have a good week, Buddy-1rob
