Sunday should be a little closer with Wang vs Livan Hernandez, but the Mets just aren't stacking up well against the Yanks. Damn, Florida plays the Yanks better.
The Mets are a trainwreck. Their pitching staff has been hit by injuries to Maine, Pelphrey and Putz, making one wonder how long it will be afore they start calling Pedro Martinez. After having late-season swoons the last two years, looks like they're going to have it early and beat the rush.
The Phils have been struggling just as bad if not worse lately. At this point, the Mets just have to be happy if they can stay in the hunt until the wounded come back, and I think they will.
As mediocre the team has been, due in part to the injuries, they have been lucky to get what they have out of Livan, he should have won 3 or 4 more games than he has to this point. And this Fernando Nieve guy has been a good shot in the arm.
