Serena talked trash to a line judge that caused her lost her match. That should not be that way in tennis. Maybe an accepted practice in football, baseball, boxing, basketball.... Serena should apologize to the judge and all tennis fan.

I am not sure what Serena problem(s) was with the officials. Kim did outplayed her in the match without a doubt. Maybe Serena knew it then so she took it out her own racket first and on the officials later.

Tennis can be a great sports for all races. I am certain no race issue exists today in tennis. Too bad Serena showed the world her bad temper and, I hope, nothing else. However, this is tennis ----- a sport I don't expect woman like Serena's behavior toward another minority. Shaq should take her outside for a challenge.

and not on the official, she might have had a better showing. Bad calls are going to happen in any sport. She should know that by now, know how to accept and work around them.

"You can take the girl outta the hood....."
Deplorable behavior any way you look at it.
After deciphering her remarks through the "beeps" I believe she told the line judge, "I'll shove this tennis ball down your fucking throat!"

What a racist remark!!  People are assholes from all classes.  She acted like an ass but it has nothing to do where she is from!!

Thanks for reminding me that I'm an asshole. Conners and McEnroe were rich kid tennis players who acted like spoiled brats but I watched those guys play hundreds of matches and never heard either one, or Nastase for that matter, drop an F bomb on the court or threaten to shove a tennis ball down someone's fucking throat!
Oh, and by the way, your retort should have read, "Were McEnroe and Conners from the hood?"
I'm not a racist but if something walks like a duck, talks like a duck, well...you know the rest.

Could be a lousy call at that point of the set/match.But rule is rule for stepping on the line during service.

I wanna play devils advocate for a moment. What if  the same call was made against Kim when the match was on the line and Kim did not play so well, will Kim go crazy and copy what Serena did to the line judge? What if the line judge was John Mac. And Bobby knight was the referee.

I get pissed off at Wizard all the time for bringing race into subjects where it has no place. I find myself agreeing completely with him this time.

WTF is this "Hood" bullshit? A woman went on a rant today, not a race. Let's just leave race the fuck out of it.

I would be willing to bet that Mcenroe has said shit just as bad, and no one blamed that on "His" race.

Serena had a bad day and exhibited bad judgement, BFD, tomorrow is another day. She is still a great talent and her behavior is no more boorish than that of many other celebrities.

''If I could, I would take this ... ball and shove it down your ... throat," Williams said.''
"I didn't say I would kill you. Are you serious .'':)

So, SO, SOOOOOO good to get a non-Williams sister final!  New blood (kinda), and a feel-good story, and you have to respect, no matter how the match ended, that Kim came to fucking play against Williams-bot.  Love it, love it, love it!

She is a bigger loser, in addition to losing her game to Kim, when she made physical threats to the line judge and defended herself in post game interview like everybody should excuse her bad temper. I guess that is classy as long as she's a super tennis hero to her own people.

for starting the whole "race" thing this morning. Honestly, I had just got up, watched Sportscenter where I was anticipating seeing her apology for her deplorable behavior and all I saw was her bascially saying, "I'm Serena Fucking Williams, deal with it."
I'm not a racist, don't use the N word, and I'll sleep well tonight because I know my own character and morals. At 51 years old, I sometimes get really damn sick of all the boorish behavior of professional athletes over and over and over again. I long for the "old days".......
