Papelbon to Philly?

If the Sox have lost him they are in deep shit.  Bard is no Papelbon. The Phillies with Papelbon will be even better.  But, on paper, they should have won it all this year and didn't get out of the first round.

Dear Inicky:
I am just wondering since I believe that you are from the empire state,would you say the evil empire has become more formidable since Papelbon has signed with Philadelphia? Considering the move not to resign with Boston could you say that the Red Sox are the Red Sucks considering the collapse they had at the end of the year?  As you say to all your lady friends in the heat of passion I guess they will really be coming to daddy.

Pap pitched well this year and they have no one to replace him.  Bard, who seemed like he could be the next dominant closer for them, stumbled this year. Pap was as important to the Sox as Rivera is to the Yankees.  I am a great believer in the need for a dominant closer for a championship team.  The Yankees, for example, have not for a long time had a dominant rotaton, but Rivera made up for it.  I believe 2012 will be a rebuilding year for the Sox and it will be tough for them to make the playoffs.  As for the Yankees, they need to bolster their rotation but they are solid in most other ways.

Dear Inicky:
This is really a season of change and upheaval for the sox. Even Mr. Ortiz is looking at the front door. Not that they can't but is Tampa Bay the next team with the most relevance in the toughest division in Baseball and can even Toronto close on them now. After the seventh inning they really are going to have to Cowboy up now. Look to gain a lot of runs after the seventh and I am wondering how you coddle the starters to get through the season in the American league. There is certainly going to be an enormous pressure on their lineup to score runs early and often like they would support their political candidates.

I think Papelbon is a bit over-rated. Don't get me wrong he is good but not close to great.
A closer is not the only problem the red sux have. As of now they have no field manager, no GM.
Ortiz is look for offers and I heard that Florida is thinking about making him one. Also what will their rotatin look like next season???? and their pen ???? There are many many unanswered questions in Bean-town. I think there is disarray in Bean-Town
As for the red sux and the playoffs not a chance ....not a prediction yet but .500 may be a struggle for them ..........heaven perhaps ........ROFLMAO ....for sure.

Thank you
2012 = 28

BTW the NY Muts should be thanking the red sux for the removing then from number one in the worst collapse in MLB history catagory....but don't worry muts fans you still have the MLB record for most LOSSES  in a season

In the wake of Papelbon's meltdown in the season finale, it is not surprising that he would be moving on.  IMO, this will be great move by the Phillies.  Adding a premier closer was probably their greatest need, and Papelbon is battle tested, despite the shocking loss in the final game.  As for the Red Sox being in deep do-do, there are other closers on the market, and I expect them to sign one of them.
