The Bear is a legemd to all fans including you and me,
but he was 0-4 against ND.

An Alabama win says most sports talking heads,
The state the team represents is full of inbreeds.

Its Catholics v Protestants, North v South,
C'ept for Gators Tide fans have the biggest mouths.

Saban is a GOD this I can't dispute,
But in tonight's post-game interview he will be a mute.

9.5 point underdogs so it should be,
It was -17 in SuperBowl three.

Go Irish !

Well, gang,  it's national championship day and as my creative juices are flowing, here's a poem for all you Irish fans out there....to the tune of the ND fight song....
I will note that I am a  Tide fan and have been for over 40 years and have never really gotten over the 24-23 loss in 73......smile

Here's a jeer, jeer for ol' Notre Dame
Bama's gonna kick your butt-ain't it a shame?!
Your defense is decent-and your offense has its tricks
Hey, tie one for the 'Gipper' like in '66    (that's another story)
The luck of the Irish has come to an end
won't be no 'home cooking' like at South Bend
The SEC's Tide will have you out of sorts
and ND's gonna take it in the shorts....Roll Tide!

       1rob...that should stir the pot a little...enjoy the game...out   8-)

Notre Dame had a great year and should be commended for it. But the SEC is "Big Boy" football. Seven national championships in a row from that conference speaks for itself. There is not a chance in the world that the Irish would come anywhere close to a perfect season if they played an SEC schedule. I would rank them 6th in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida and Texas A&M. The physical difference and the speed differential between the two teams was so apparent last night it was frightening.

The key for Notre Dame will now be to sustain and build upon their success next year. Not easy to do. We know Alabama can.
