After the Yankees, NYers haven't had a winner in DECADES while Boston teams have piled up championships.

Jets? lol
Knicks? lol

It's too bad Inicky has to be associated with you.

Boy did that happen fast!  Terry is live right now (7 p.m. EDT) announcing his resignation.  He's saying he felt it was time to go, but it doesn't sound like anyone there begged him to stay, either.  He pretty much took the whole blame for the collapse.  As a Yankee fan, I'd say he's a class act.  I'd also say (as I've said) it wasn't his fault.  His team was so banged up he had Jed Lowrie batting clean-up forchrissakes.  Carl Crawford was a huge bust.  When you don't hit, you're at least supposed to field your position but he dropped two.  The pitching staff went in the tank.  What's Terry supposed to do, pitch and play every position?  I wish him well.  He'll be snapped up and make big bucks somewhere.  All I care about is that it ain't the the AL East.

Terry is out of boston. Praise the lord, all my prays worked and terry has resigned. He is a great manager and is,too good for boston. Its very evident he didnt like dealing with pressure there. Boston will never have another awesome manager as terry. Please now boston press is saying alot of crap of how pitchers who werent slated to pitch would drink in clubhouse. I mean, winning 2 world series boston has already forgotten of his accomplishments. Boston fans are so not appreciated of tito how sad. Boston loss is our triumph. A colossal by john henry or who is running redsox. Mike francesca is having a field day ripping boston fans and is thoroughly enjoying boston debacle. For once I,agree with mike this is priceless. Like mike said boston only has redsox and are obsessed by redsox and while in ny if yankees lose we move on to jets and knick, while in boston its 125% redsox nation. Enjoy playoffs because I am enjoying this too much. Texas is getting rocked this is too awesome, there ace is getting smacked around, love it, race for 28, and my,yankees are favorite, maybe tonight I should put,a tape of,game 5 yankees vs braves when wohlers choked, talk to you later brother and sisters, inicky, welcome to my,club.

Setting aside the question of liorr for a moment, you have forgotten something rather significant: the New York Giants 2007 Super Bowl win over the...wait for it...New England/Boston Patriots.  Perhaps the greatest upset Super Bowl upset since the...yes...Jets won Super Bowl III.  I don't think the Pats have recovered from it yet.  The best evidence of this is when the...yes...Jets... knocked them out of the playoffs last year.
Sorry to have to bring this up, but facts are facts.

That was a great win by the GMen and I was rooting for them and I am not even a fan. And while the Jets beat the Pats last year, they didn't win the Super Bowl.

a colossal choke job. Celtics are done, this year we will have no nba, in 2 years allen, and garnett will retire. Also by way hockey isnt something i follow only if  i skate with a hot bostonian at a trendy skating rink. You are just bitter because its race for 28 for us boston yankee fans, and you just lost your greatest manager ever and he was chased out like a piece of dog something yankees would never do to there players. Victor Martinez great move of not resigning him, nice job theo,  i am lol on my couch.

From what I heard, there were problems with team chemistry and cohesiveness, which may means certain players will be traded or let go of as well.  In the short run, I doubt this will be good for the Red Sox, and it may take a couple of years before they will become menacing again.  Also, I expect that Crawford will return to form next year, as he finally settles in.

It will be interesting to see who replaces Francona, and where Tito goes next.   Despite being a fan of the Empire, I've always respected him, considered him to be a class act, and clearly in the top echelon of MLB managers.  l'm sure he'll have plenty of options, of course, in choosing where to go next...

You wanna live in the past....................... fine.
Let's look at the last 10 years, shall we.
In the last decade, NE/Boston has had 3 Superbowl wins, 2 Red Sox World Series wins, a Celtic Championship and a few short days from now, the Garden will be hanging another Bruins Stanley Cup Championship banner.
That's 7 Championships in 10 years!!!
In all four major sports, no less!!
And the only reason there isn't 8 is because the 10 million dollar loser who's currently milking the 'dream team' dry couldn't catch a pass that Eli threw right to him; FACT!!!

What have your junks done in the last decade? Or the rangers? Or the Knicks?

Does the name Joe Torre sound familiar? If the Yankees wanted him back, they wouldn't have insulted him with such a lowball offer.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I rest my case.

Agreed.  My question about Crawford is, was he one of the guys in the clubhouse that was a problem?  If so, they might try to trade him, though that's a long shot.  I've been watching the Boston sports talk shows and there were rumors of Bucholtz coming in hung over and passing out in the locker room, while he was healthy.  Beckett's name was mentioned as one who had less of a professional attitude during this season than in the past.  Lackey's lousy attitude is well known and I"m sure he's gone.  Next year will be a rebuilding year for sure.  Of course, this year was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Rays, and look what they've done.

I can't argue with the record.  Boston is a great sports town, no denying it.  My problem, as I've said, is mainly with the fans, and with the general attitude of Bostonians about New York.  They love to put NY down, which to me smacks of petty jealousy.  Both cities are wonderful places, mixtures of good and bad but mostly good.  Boston, being so much smaller -- and so close to NY -- will always be in the shadow of the larger city so I guess jealousy is a natural reaction.
I remember my last game at the old Yankee Stadium.  There was a couple seated near us from Boston.  They were pretty feisty about rooting for the Sox and others in the crowd were getting on them.  Then they mentioned it was their first visit to NY.  After that, everybody was nice and the give-and-take was funny but not nasty.  We all had a good time and the Yankees won.
Now here's another historical point.  Despite Boston's great record, probably the best single season sports record belongs to New York.  In 1969-70 sports season the "Miracle Mets" beat the Baltimore Orioles, the Joe Willie Namath Jets beat the then Baltimore Colts, and the Knicks beat the then Baltimore Bullets.  I don't think it has ever happened before or since that three major sports teams from one city beat the three major sports teams from another city in the same season.  Yet you don't see the citizens of Baltimore chanting "New York sucks,"  do you?

It'll be hard to trade Crawford with that big contract, his bad season and his bad attitude. I've never been a big fan of alcohol in the workplace, but that seemed to be one of the issues, with pitchers drinking in the clubhouse on their offdays. Supposedly, one of the players told a member of the media that a lot of guys on the team had a sense of entitlement. With all of what's gone on, they most likely need to blow the team up, take their lumps for a few years and rebuild. Pedroia is a good building block.

And Pedroia is a very good building block, even if he's only the second-best second baseman in the AL East.  lol!  He gets more out of that tiny body than anybody else could.  Can you imagine how good he'd be if he was even 5'9"?  Scary.
Now, here's another thing that's funny: all the talk about how tough a town Boston is to play in.  What whiney crap!  Sure it's tough, but who thinks NY is easy?  Or Philly.  Or Chicago.  These guys need to shut up and play ball.

'Cause NYers never would do such a crass thing as chant "Boston Sucks", right?!?
They exude class, fairness and good sportsmanship!!
PLEASE!!
A classic example of NYers sportsmanship:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjupnYB5vUI&feature=related

And jealousy?!? You're shittin' me, right?!?
WTF do we in Boston/NE have to be jealous of NY about?
Certainly not your sports teams or your athletes!
Your crime, maybe?
Or the fact that your city actually smells!!!
I was there 2 weeks ago and Penn Sta smells like an open sewer; city streets above were no relief either!
Then, in my cab headed to an appt, I saw some NYer (in a suit!) pissing on the sidewalk for all to see!!
Now that's class!!
Say what you want about Boston, but it doesn't smell!

Oh and we can't forget the character of your athletes either.
Plaxico Burress is a shining example of humble sportsmanship.
Latrell Spreewell attacked HIS coach!!!!

But you're right, it's deep-seated jealousy!
To quote Chris Rock, "Nigga Please"!!

I put up a reasonable post in which I actually praise Boston as a sports town and come up with a theory about why Boston fans are so aggressively anti-NY.  You reply with a rant.  Pathetic.  Of course Yankee fans also chant "Boston Sucks."  Actually, I and many New Yorkers don't like it when they do.  Sorry you had a bad time in New York.  But the city  you describe bears no resemblance to the one I know.  As for Boston, it sounds like you've never been to Southie or to that open sewer called Dorchester.  LMAO!  You don't think it smells there?  Dream on.
As for athletes, try telling me Randy Moss was a fine, upstanding citizen.  Yes, Plax is a dirt-bag.  But he's not from NY and lived in NJ when he popped a cap in his own ass, after which the Giants dropped him like a hot potato.  And Latrell Sprewell was not even playing in NY when he attacked his coach.  So get your fucking facts right "jhonny-boy."  And next time you want to have a real discussion with me, try taking a more adult tone.  I might even respond.  But making a childish rant while misusing the facts just proves my point about Boston fans.  Too many of them are like you, and have their head up their asses.

Just because you offer 2 lines of supposed praise does not excuse you from bashing Boston fans which you know I'm obviously one.
Are you so deluded to think you could respond to my post with that (completely off topic) insult/assinine assumption followed by touchy, feel-good BS and I (or another Boston fan) would not respond/attack?!?
While you can actually conjugate a verb/use punctuation correctly, you're living on planet loirr/rjai/casa-loser if you think that will happen!

Obviously every city has places that are not as sweet smelling as others, but South Station doesn't smell like piss (I was there today); neither does North Station!!
And in 30 yrs of being in/out of the city, I have yet to see anyone (other than Bums) pissing on the sidewalk for all to see at 10:00am!

I am not anti-NY (again you're making an incorrect statement/assumption), though I bear their sports teams '0' like/admiration.
I am pro-Boston sports teams and (we all are) CONSTANTLY barraged by you're father-figure and his insanity!!
I let him have his moments during the summer (as I've said, I could give 2 shits baseball ended tomorrow) and ignore him.
But come late August (and the greatest game of all begins), my testosterone gets flowin' and then the Bruins take the ice!
Kid gloves off!!!

And if you can't take the 'take' portion of give/take, keep your opinions/theories to yourself!

Amazing you can say that with a straight face after the other shit you wrote.  You are the definition of a hypocrite...and one that can't even read.  Did you miss the fact that I wrote I don't like hearing "Boston Sucks" cheers?  Or that a bunch of us welcomed a couple of Boston fans to the old Stadium? Try going back to my original post and doing your homework.  And if you're right, how come you're the only Boston fan to use my post as an excuse to go on an anti-NY rant?  As for pissing on the sidewalk, I've never actually seen that in NY.  But your point here is apparently you've seen bums in Boston do it and the guy in NY who did it had a suit and tie on?  LMAO!  So the reason it was so bad was because he was dressed well?  Do you know how idiotic that makes you?
PS:  I hate hockey.  I could care less about the Bruins or the Rangers.  As for your kid gloves, gosh, now I'm really scared.  A semi-literate ass-wipe on a fuck board is pissed at me!  *yawn*
