even after his 50-50 accomplishment which, I grant you, is amazing. But I'll still take Aaron Judge, with his 58 home runs (and 62 a couple of years ago), which put him with more than 300 HRs in his fairly young career. Then there's the fact he also plays a sterling Center Field, getting to virtually ever ball and has a cannon for an arm. He's the most dominantly complete ballplayer in the game. Right up there with another great Yankee I loved: Mickey Mantle.
I've been a baseball fan since the early 60's. Hank Arron was my idol. I've been to a number of Dodger games this year and when Ohtani comes to the plate, its an event. People rise, cell phones come out and you can feel the anticipation of what might be. And when he makes contact, the sound of the ball is something I've never heard before. And I've rarely seen a ground ball consistently hit so hard that it goes by the shortstop and carries to the left center wall for a double. He hit grounder down the 1st base line, first baseman fielded it and Ohtani with his speed beat the first baseman to the bag, The speed for a guy his size, never seen that. And he hasn't pitched this year...yet. I can say that in time, he'll be know as the greatest ball player ever.
