Tiger is still avoiding talking to the police. The more he evades this,

the worse he's making it for himself.  The spin doctors seem to be working overtime on this!

As a result he is waiting for some of the wounds to heal to avoid in essence getting Elin into a whole lot of LE trouble. It explains his consciousness issues as well as the possible prescription drugs.

An eyewitness claims multiple golf irons were visible at the accident scene and he / she may have pictures. His wife never called the cops, someone else did.

At least this is the latest word on the street.

Now even if both come clean and tell the truth, no one is going to believe them. Everyone though has a good idea of what probably happened.

The PR damage is done though, I have never seen someone's image so high and fall so hard, so fast in the space of 48 hours. Well maybe the Clinton sex scandal.

The damage to the PGA Tour is also significant in terms of revenue, sponsorships, ratings etc mainly because he attracted non traditional golf audiences. Tim Finchem is probably rolling in his sleep right now.

My prediction is Mickelson's already sizable popularity will just takeoff and the PGA will try to make him the new face of the tour.

When Tiger catches and passes Jack, my guess is it will not be as earth shattering as it might have been even compared to his '97 Master's win.

Jack Nicklaus is the greatest golfer of all time. He played against much tougher opposition and did not have the benefit of today's modern technology and course conditions.
Forget about his 18 first place finishes in majors. Check out how many times he came in 2nd or third and it is a staggering number. Jack was always in contention and was just as gracious in defeat as he was in victory. Can Tiger say the same? No way.

It does look like there is some spin being put on what will come out, and that's expected and normal for a celebrity.  It's doubtful that any perfectly clear story that everyone believes will come out of this.

But, the two comments above are silly.  Mickelson has proven to be a great choker, and will always be second to Tiger.  He would be more of a sympathy figure than anything else, and that will not attract the audience that Tiger brings.  Wistful thinking, as is the thought that Nicklaus was better.  There are many more players who can win now than Nicklaus ever faced, and the equipment improvements level the field, rather than make it easier for Tiger to win.  On a given day, a 45 year-old can now compete at the highest level.

I agree about Jack being better then Tiger and Tiger better hope the  National Enquirer was not as correct as it was with John Edwards or Tiger will see money vanish so quick on endorsements that it  will make your head spin :)

also hit a parked car and a mailbox, we would have a had a new Tiger Slam. Unfortunately I read that this morning so I can't take credit.

We can speculate all we want, but at the end of the day my money is on sex, and probably the lack of it from her. So just like Clinton, Spitzer, Sanford, Phillips, and a thousand other guys, they took matters in their own hands, well kinda.

Tiger was making love to Elin and the name Rachel slipped out.  Eventually all the details will be revealed, IMO.  Tiger's just never had an embarrassing moment off the course, but he's sure got a whopper now!!

I'm just not sure why the hell the Florida State Police are involved!  WTF?  The incident was in a private community and barely onto public right-of-way.

Somehow, I got a feeling Tiger's gonna survive this.

I am looking for an overnight or two near Orlando.

She must be willing to host.

I will need a ride to her place, my car is in the shop.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Cumuppance, you can't be serious.
Nicklaus had Palmer, Player, Trevino, Watson battling him out. Are you honestly comparing Mickelson or Els or any of today's players to that group? That foursome alone won 30 majors.
Nicklaus had 18 to himself. Throw in 19 second places, 9 third places, and 73 top 10's.
Let me know when Tiger gets some real competition or approaches those other numbers.
Has Eldrick played some amazing golf...of course he has. But I'll take Jack's career over Tiger's because of his Ryder Cup success and the gentleman he was both on and off the course.

Love the Tiger, but he's apparently been using his putter on strange greens and playing 'out of bounds'-He and the wife have put off talking to police yet another day-Did she impose her own penalty stroke or two? Hope this works out for the best for him-

While there is a good deal of damage, it is on the passenger side. Car did not even flip, windshield was not even broken.

Nothing that would have stopped a driver from simply opening the driver side door and walking away, much less requiring his wife to bust the back window with a club.

Good chance his wife beat him in the head with the club and he is now taking one for his wife by not talking. If he interviews with the FHP and the wounds on his face don't match the accident, FHP has her for filing a false police report and possibly battery charges.

I suspect the local PD (Windermeer) is in on the cover up as well. They knew what happened and acted to protect the couple by hanging onto the report until Tiger was released and gets home. If they release it while Tiger is still in the hospital, FHP goes to the hospital to interview him or waits outside the hospital to interview him after his release.

it is no different than the hobby.  If they arrest him he still does not have to talk and incriminate himself and his wife would not be compelled to speak either.

This should die with no further coverage.

If you look at teh sheer number of golfers it creates a huge separation in comparison.

It is much easier for 4-5 guys to shine if only 1000 players play world wide.

Litterally millions play the game now and thus the competition is much greater to even make the pros.

That said...I give longevity a lot of credit to the greatest players of all time in any sport.

Guys that play at the top of their game for 20 years or more means far more to me than a guy that puts 10 prime years together.

I'll take
Kareem over Micheal.
Ryan over Clemens
Farve over Marino or Elway
Hull Or over Gretzky or Lemiux
Nichlaus/Palmer over Tiger(right now)

If Tiger plays for 40 years and still wins 20-25 years from now, he will have proven he is the best and most likely surpassed all of Jacks numbers in a much more competative environment.

A hobby case involves breaking the law.

This is not a criminal case, it is a car accident with significant damage involved. He is required to file an accident report unless he is dead in which case he cannot file one.

He has yet to file an accident report with the local police department or FHP but his wife has done so albeit a false one. She was not involved in the accident. If I recall, this is a one car, one person accident.

in your first post stating that the Local Pd is involved in the cover up?

I never said he did not have to file an accident report, I said he does not have to SPEAK with police nor does his wife.

There is NO abuse unless Tiger files a report on that.  The police can not force him to do that.

They will get a written report of his accident, he does not have to disclose his injuries either.

He is only responsible for reporting the accident and the damage to public and private property other than his own.

Not all accident with considerable damage(even a totalled vehicle) REQUIRE a report to police.
