My husband informed me that he got his first royal flush earlier today! Sad thing is that it was an unsanctioned event. The incident will never make headlines. The poor guy who rode the wave of excitement lost the tournament having a straight flush himself. What a shitty way to lose. I know you guys don't think Poker is a sport but OSP has had very little to brag about lately. My fault i'm afraid. Any one else have luck with your efforts this weekend? I forgot to mention that his Royal Flush came on his river card.
I've had one on Pokerstars. Odds are horendious, something like 1 in 2,598,960. So he can look foward to his next on sometime after 2 1/2 million hands. That should keep him out of trouble for a while.
Unfortunately it was in a small limit 7 stud game at the Silver Dollar in Las Vegas while I was waiting for a seat at the "big table" which was a pot limit hold em game that was frequented by Amarillo Slim and Major Riddle among others.
I had the good fortune to catch a royal against a guy with Aces full, but the bad luck to do it at a table with a paltry few hundred dollars at the entire table.
I sincerely hope OSP fared better financially with his royal than I did with my only one.

The tournament wasn't the only winnings from yesterday! He can barely get his head through doorways anymore. I'm actually hoping for a loss soon to bring him back down to earth.
