ABC News reported this evening that the Octopus that has been picking winners in The World Cup has predicted that Spain will be the winner tomorrow.  Also it has been reported that a contract has been put on the same octopus. Anybody up for some calamari tomorrow?

...has so far correctly predicted all of Germany's matches.  Just the German ones:

Wins over Australia and Ghana.

Loss to Serbia.

Wins over the English and Argentineans.

Loss to Spain (which led to the Spanish PM to jokingly want Paul to have secure protection, and renowned Spanish chef José Andrés to take octopus off his menu.)

Today's win (well, I just got home...I suppose it is really yesterday's) over Uruguay.

Seven out of seven?  Pretty and weirdly accurate.  I ignored the phenomena at first but the German media made it impossible to ignore!!

That Octopus will be my calamari tomorrow as I celebrate a 2-1 or 3-2 Netherlands victory over Spain.

I picked Netherlands over Spain in my ESPN bracket and I am sticking with it. Unfortunately my chances of winning the contest went out the window with the African teams. I picked 5/6 to advance to the second round and only one did.

He picked Germany to win but Spain prevailed 1-0.

I am still not sure why everyone is making such a fuss about an Octopus. Frankly, I think there might be some fishy business going on with his picks, pardon the pun.

If I were a German, this Octopus should have been calamari a week ago after he picked Spain. Given how rapid football fans the Germans are, he is the equivalent of being a traitor.

Everybody is cheering for the Netherlands, mainly so they can get a free blowjob from that Pornstar, right.

...but I'm happy Paul picked die Mannschaft's win yesterday, so it's a bacon cheeseburger for dinner tonight, not octopus.
