I do not know if this is the same guy but
several years ago there was a switch pitcher in the majors, but seems he did not last very long in the majors

In any case I recall there was some controversy, when a switch hitter came to the plate as to who must be the first to declare left or right.

Anyone remember?

Yes pretty cool stuff.

Thank you

His name was Greg Harris and he pitched for Montreal almost 20 years ago. I think he only switch-pitched to a few batters.

But reading this story made me think of Jim Abbott switching his glove to his pitching hand immediately after the pitch.

Rule is pitcher must indicate to runner an hitter how he will throw first pitch then batter steps in. After that pitcher an batter may each switch once during the at bat

Ask me to throw right handed.

There are exceptions to every rule, some Gals do throw quite well with their dominant hand, and hit hard too.
I was almost KO'd by a Gal one time.
I deserved it though, she found out about her older sister and me.

Neither batter or pitcher may switch once the at bat has begun. I do believe the pitcher has to indicate to the ump and batter which way he will be pitching.
