According to Tiger and most other people, is that he got caught.

He's just eating shit to get a decent life back.

Isn’t that’s what us hobbyist are doing every time we see a provider.

We had president getting BJs in the oval office and he is still respected and his wife was only a few votes short of being the president. Do we have a double standard for sports people and Politian’s? All Tiger has to do is get his shit together go out on the tour and start kicking some ass and everyone will forget that he like to F%$#.

Sarah very go post I wish I had your writing skills but most of all I wish I had you here by my side right now.

negative.  My guess is that the media will hound him until it gets a chance to ask him questions directly.  While I didn't watch it live, in the replays I saw afterward Tiger, to me, looked like an arrogant robot.  He is still trying to control everything, and he simply doesn't realize yet that he won't be able to do that and, at the same time, have this thing go away.

Tiger put as much humanity in his speech as is possible for a written statement. Is he hiding behind avoiding questions? Absolutely. Does he have that right? ABSOLUTELY

I still believe that this is a personal matter between Tiger and his wife. And he said as much in his statement. Fuck the media and their desire to destroy his life. They will eventually get their shot at him but I bet Tiger will dodge their bullets.

Tiger will control what he can by slowly giving the jackals what they want on his own terms. He will return to golf and hide behind the PGA who will protect his privacy...and rightfully so. I do not condone Tiger’s wanton actions (although this is a board that is heavily populated by his fellow philanderers, myself included) but I will be damned if I will support the media’s attempt to destroy him for it.

at least John separates his paragraphs, by double spaces. Too much text, typed too close together makes my "old eyes" and head hurt. lol

Sorry I never got all the way through the post to comment on it's actual merits (or lack therof).

Maybe I'll try reading it again so I can add my $.02 lol

I don't think Tiger owes anyone an explanation but his wife, and I am disappointed and disgusted by the number of judgemental, and hypocritical posts on the subject.

You would think that if there were anywhere that Tiger could find a sypathetic audience, it would be on TER. The number of hypocrites on this board should shock me, but I have been here too long to be shocked or even really suprised by the small minded thinking here.

I am not directing this at the OP or any of the nonjudgemental sports fans that would just love to watch Tiger play golf, but to the rest of you who revel at Tigers current problems, I wish you a heart felt "FUCK YOU!!!" and I hope that any married man here that "hobbys" on his wife that feels justified criticizing Tiger for the same actions that he is guilty of, gets a chance to feel Tigers pain.

I emphatically agree with your first paragraph.

I had a $100 bet on the over/under of how many times Tiger would use the word "sorry" in his speech. The line was 5.5. I took the over. He only used the word sorry 4 times.

And yes I agree with your post. But damn, I just needed Tiger to apologize to the cameraman, waiter, doorman, anybody (lol).

Yes Tiger owed the world an apology, but for very different reasons. Tiger is a company. Tiger is a brand. It needs to be protected. This is no different than a pharma, auto, or any company for that matter that fucks up with a product. The CEO has to go on TV and apologize in order to protect its brand. Granted, Tiger didn't release a faulty product in the marketplace, but he needs his remaining sponsors and potentially new sponsors to see value in the brand.

Tiger's mistake was taking almost 3 months to release a statement. This is about controlling the message. What he did was allow others, i.e. the media to dictate and control the messaging.
