Right now, without the lockout nothing would be going on in the NFL except for free-agency. Most teams don't start training camp until late-July, so there is still 5-6 weeks to hammer out a deal...and even an abbreviated traning camp won't be so bad because most pre-season games suck.

I've been getting through the off-season by watching the Greatest Games series broadcast on the Big Ten Network.  Since I don't remember the outcome of most of them, it's almost like watching new games in June.

I hope the NFL gets its head out of its butt and the season isn't trashed, but if they don't, I'll just double up on the college games.

If the NFL season didn't start on time and the networks decided to switch some college games to Sunday, I wouldn't mind one bit as long as it's not some rinky dink teams playing.

A good college game is entertaining even if I don't have a rooting interest.

that everyone can live with. They're still hammering out the details, but hopefully they can come up with something by the start of training camps on 7 July.

and I'd forgotten how much fun the HS game can be.  It's been a long time since I've seen one in person.

so prices of both sport will subside. So lebron won't be 28 until his next season, so than pressure will be even stronger for him to produce. Who needs both sports anyway, we have baseball until october, i have other things to keep myself busy. Who agrees with me, let these athletes spent 1 whole year with no pay check.

High school football starts on the last weekend of August. You can't beat the atmosphere of a high school game on Friday night.

I love Friday night football especially in a state where it's a huge deal. The stadium at the local HS puts most  D-2 and several D-1aa stadiums to shame and the state playoff history to back it all up.  Now if they could just get rid of the trailor classrooms !

Agree and even some "rinky dink" schools can be just as entertaining. Schools like the D-3 Mount Union Purple Raiders would be great to watch every week.
