Clint Dempsey, forward for the US soccer team injured himself today and it appears to be a torn ligament in his kneee.  If it is indeed he will most likely have to sit out of the World Cup which is a definite blow to the US soccer players hopes of getting past the first round.

Losing Clint Dempsey after injuries to Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu is like a punch to the gut.

He will have an MRI tomorrow and I am cautiously optimistic but everyone seems to indicate it is a torn ligament.

You are correct with your analysis of the original poster. He is confusing a discussion board with a chat room. Also many non soccer fans would have no idea what he was referring to.

Now the American team will have a tough challenge. I thought this was a sports board. HOPEFULLY everyone knows what kind of a sport soccer is.
