Sure, the playoffs are a long shot for the Steelers. Too much has to go right over the last two weeks (so far it went right the first week!), for them to get into the post-season.
But what I respect so much about the Steelers, is that they NEVER quit on a season. It's why over the past 40 years, they have only had one year (1988, they went 5-11) where they didn't win at least 6 games in a season. It's an unbelievable testament to their professionalism and weekly approach. You will never see a situation like the Redskins, Falcons and Texans; 3 playoff teams of last year with Super Bowl aspirations (especially Atlanta), basically quitting 1/3- 1/2 way through the year. There is no other way to say it. Those teams have way too much talent to be at the bottom of the league standings. With minimal effort, they should have won 6-7 games. Conversely, the Steelers were 0-4 and 2-6. They have a veteran team who, realizing the playoffs were a long shot, could have basically given up on 2013. They fought.
As I said, the post-season is a long shot (Having to win and have 3 other teams loose). But at least they gave themselves a chance entering week 17 to make it in.
edskins who have been 'Sniderized' and rendered absolutely feckless-I think they were out of contention about the 2nd week in October-geez-Until Danny departs, the 'Skins are up poop creek with no paddles in sight-Little offense and the only success with defense is vs. the name change happy holidays, All 8-)

f Miami wins, the Dolphins still need Baltimore to loose OR San Diego to win to make the playoffs If Baltimore wins, the Ravens still need Miami to loose OR San Diego to loose to make the playoffs
An interesting scenario is if both Miami/Baltimore win at 1:00PM, their playoff fate is in the hands of the Chargers who would in turn have nothing to play for.
For the Chargers to make it: They have to win and both Miami and Baltimore have to loose
For Pittsburgh to make it: They have to win and Miami, Chargers and Baltimore have to loose
If all four teams win, the Dolphins make the playoffs If all four teams loose, the Ravens make the playoffs
If some of these teams tie, well then, you'll have to figure it out on your own
.but I have to admit I understand your enthusiasm. Its nice to have some fresh faces in the playoffs. How many times must we endure Ben StatuturyRapelisburger, AarOld Rodgers, ThomASS Brady, Jolene Flake-O etc lol
I think this may be the year I can sit back and watch some good football while not having to scream for someone to beat the same ole obligatory entrants.
Mind if I root for my boy Drew Breesus though ? Lol
