Who do you see in the final round?

I would've said the Laker's and Cavs had it been 4 weeks ago.  But then Houston has been giving the Laker's major issues.

Today the Laker's have came out with a bang like I thought, but if they are having problems getting past the Rockets, then what is going to happen when Denver gets a hold of them??  Denver is obviously a better team than the Rockets.  I would've thought once Yao was out, the Laker's would have breezed through them.  Rockets are missing BOTH their big men.

The Cavs on the other hand have been blowing through their opponents.  And of course there is the argument that the East isn't as tough as the West is.  But if you ask me, Houston isn't much better than the 6ers nor Atlanta.  So why haven't the Laker's put them away  3 games ago??

I think the Laker's lack heart and comradeship.  Without that a team is nothing.  And being over confident is killing them.

I am seeing a Denver-Cavs match up.  Anyone else??

Cavs should make it out of the East.  Mo Williams was the missing piece for the Cavs.

If Denver continues to play good D, they can beat the Lakers.  Nene and Kenyon Martin need to stay away from foul trouble.  JR Smith needs to play smart offense.  If Bynum does not show up, the Nuggets will win the series.

For the Finals...Cavs.

of Iverson and acquiring Billups was the move of the year. I think seeing how  the Lakers have played against an under-manned Houston team will give Denver an added push, even though the Lakers have home-court advantage.

So personally I think that means nothing.  Boston came back and beat them at home last year after being down by 24.

Not to mention Houston beat them in Game 1 on their court.  Laker's don't have ANY heart and Bynum has his head in his ass.  15 minutes and had 3 boards and 2 fouls.  Got a tech right out of the gate today.

The Laker's are easily put out of their element and if they can't get their head out of the clouds, they will be watching the finals from home.  Which personally, I am hoping for :D:D:D

Been down by two and couldn't even step ahead or tie the game up.  They are so off and on, there doesn't seem to be a medium for them.  Hot or cold, which will they be Tuesday??  :D:D  Love ya B lol.

my money is on CAVS & Lakers

i say lakers in 6

Opps your talking about hockey LOL.

Lakers in 7 over the Cavs.

Sorry Tasha sweetheart

In fact, Tasha, you and I talked about the Rockets series going to at least 6 if not 7 so I expected the competition but didn't expect the LAKERS to get hurt so bad my the pick and roll.

But what about the NUGGETS!!!?  My God!! I have never seen them play like they have in these play offs and I am really looking forward to the conference finals.  You know I'm a Laker fan and want them to win but if the games are going to be like I think they will - the series will be outstanding regardless.

as a Clevelander and a hardcore basketball fan...ESP THE CAVS....I dont see the Championship going any other way besides....CAVS~VS~NUGGETS.......

I have no idea where the Lakers were sleeping while their alter (non basketball) playing egos were on the court with Houston? Seriously either someone was paid to throw the games or they are having a hugeeeeeeeeee disconnect behind the scenes......

The Cavs will take the rings this year!!!!!!

has to do is steal one of the first two games in L.A. when the Lakers will be tired, then run them into the ground in the high altitude.  Quite possible so now I'm befuddled.

Kobe was spot on by saying the Lakers were bi-polar w/the the Rockets. But there is no team in the NBA that has as much talent, skill and basketball IQ as the Lakers. Kobe shouldn't take 20+ shots. When that happens, the Lakers offense just stalls. They need to force the ball down low to Gasol and Bynum. What other team has two 7-footers w/that much skill.

I will credit Denver. They are playing well, and you can thank Billups. He brings the team discipline, but Anthony, Martin, Smith will find a way to implode. They all have Ron Artest genes.

Oh yeah, the CAVS lost only 1 game at home. Was that to the Lakers? Kobe and Lebron were both non factors and the Lakers still crushed the Cavs.

St. Croix34733 reads

Yeah that was the case in 2005, 2006, & 2007. Why? Because the Lakers had no talent other than Kobe. That all changed when the Lakers traded for Fisher, Gasol and Ariza, Bynum was not just some kid with deer in the headlight looks.

Name me one other player that you want to have the final shot of the game. No player, including LeBron, Wade, or any other has made more game winning shots than Kobe. Granted, LeBron is the MVP, but if you want a cold hearted assassin, then Kobe is your man.

P.S. Thank God Jerry Buss was right to get rid of Shaq in 2004.

But seriously I am SO tired of people comparing kobe and LeBron.  YOU CAN'T do it.  Kobe has been at this 8yrs longer than LeBron.

The Laker's do have the best talent in the league.  Which means they have NO excuse what so ever for losing the finals last year lol.  Oh if only we had Bynum is all I kept hearing.  Yeah well, Bynum didn't score in 6 of the playoff games so obviously having Bynum doesn't mean to much at all.

The laker's havea  ton of talent and can't seem to keep their heads out of their ass when it comes to crunch time.  They are Hot or Cold, like I said they have no medium.  And if they don't figure themselves out, they aren't going to have a ring.

Nuff said.

Ok Sir your argument is null and void:

Shots.  And now imagine LeBron in 8yrs hahahahha.  People better check stats before you talk shit.

Allure....I'm impressed. Nice fact finding. Of course I would like to see the stats before the 2003/04 season. We wouldn't want to diss Michael Jordan now would we? Nevertheless, there was a poll taken last year where every GM was asked who they would want to take the last shot. No, I don't have a website, but they overwhelmingly selected Kobe.

What's great about the Lakers is that every other team and city hate the Lakers. Are there any chants other than "Beat LA"? These chants go back to West, Baylor, Chamberlain, Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Shaq, Horry, Fox and so on. It's tough when you have to live up to expectations of 15 championship rings. I despise the Celtics, but they can talk smack as they have 17 rings. Even the Spurs can talk a little smack w/their 4 rings, but Cleveland? Win a few first, in any sport.

Tasha....I just might come to Vegas to place a nice bet on the Lakers. Kobe and Fisher both have 3 rings, and Jackson has 9 rings. I'll take the experience anytime.

Are we having fun?

St. Croix32410 reads

And yes no rings since Shaq left. After Shaq left, it didn't take long for the Lakers to retool and reload.

Time to start cranking up Randy Newman's I LOVE LA song, which we play at all Laker games. Makes we want to get that nasty redhead Randy sings about.

Glad you are so passionate and knowledgeable about sports. So don't be wearing any Nuggets or Cavs jersey's when opening that door of yours.

Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can tell you what Cleveland is about to WIN.....and how about that SMARTY PANTS!!!

OMG Tasha I love this board....I shall be the assistant sports board whore!!
