Kill a Person - 30 days; Kill a Dog - 2 years

Football player Dante Stallworth pleaded guilty to DUI and Manslaughter, and gets 30 days in prison.

Michael Vick gets 23 months for killing dogs.

I guess human life really does have little value. Gordon Gekko was right - "Let me tell you something about WASPs, Bud, they love animals, and hate people."

If Vick hadn't lied about his activities, he probably would have gotten nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

First off, he manned up at the time of the accident. He stayed at the scene called 911 and took responibility. Secondly, the man he hit was not in a crosswalk and there was evidence that Stallworth would have hit him drunk or sober. As far as speeding goes, he was doing 50mph in a 40mph zone, that's a far cry from some reckless drunk out there deliberately endangering the public.

I am sure many people, myself included could put themselves in Stallworth's position. One of those "there but by the grace..." type situations.

Michael Vick OTOH was and still is a brutal thug. He is also apparently an idiot. He not only ran an illegal dog fighting racket, he also bankrolled an illegal gambling operation while a quarterback in the NFL. He should be banned for life for that charge alone.

Stallworth, despite his mistake has proven himself to be a worthwhile human being. Stallworth made a horrible mistake, but it was a mistake. Michael Vick is just a worthless piece of pond scum.
