Lion-Eagle trade deadline deal.

Rarely has a trade in the NFL been credited with saving a player's life, but that seems to be the case with the Jerome Harrison-for-Ronnie Brown trade between Detroit and Philadelphia. The trade was nullified when Harrison failed a physical. The reason? The physical revealed that Harrison has a brain tumor! Harrison has already started treatment and, while his season is over, the long-term prognosis for his career and, more importantly, his life, look extremely good. Go Jerome, we're pulling for you!!

If Jahvid Best didn't get a concussion, this trade probably wouldn't have happened and Jerome Harrison likely would not have realized he had a brain tumor. Fate is very strange.

should be a lesson to all of us to get check-ups regularly as well as continue to monitor our bodies for any suspiceous changes.  Don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like to live a lot longer.

Harrison was increasingly complaining about headaches and their response was to treat the issue with sunglasses and a visor despite all the focus on concussions where headaches are a side effect and migraines.

Good thing he was honest enough to tell the Eagles doc he had been experiencing headaches during his physical. Also nice to see the Eagles doc take the issue seriously and followup with an MRI.

Hope lessons are learned from this situation!
