Penn State after a furious comeback last night is out along with Ohio State.

Because of Penn State's fortuitous win against Ohio State (some would say a fluke), the Buckeyes didn't have to risk their place in the college playoff by playing in the Big 10 Championship. Clemson, Washington and to a lesser extent Alabama (I don't think the Tide would have fallen out of the top 4 even if they lost to Florida)  had to risk their places by playing in Conference Championship games.

You can bet that if either Clemson or Washington had loss, they would have dropped them both out of the Final Four. I think that was a flaw in this year's system...Ohio State was benefited by not having to play an extra game.  

Now, Ohio State is prob. one of the best four teams in the country, but at the end they caught a major break.

I agree that it was a flaw that Ohio State was in without playing in or winning their conference championship. However, the truth is barring some major fluke it really isn't going to matter. Alabama looks far and away the better all around team and it really feels like the other three are all playing for second place.
