Earlier, it was reported that Thomas would accept a consultant's position with the Knicks while continuing to coach at Florida International. Not so fast! After a meeting with David Stern, Thomas has declined the job because it is a violation of NBA conflict-of-interrest bylaws. A potential PR nightmare for the Knicks as been alleviated.

will be irrelevant. Even if Carmelo Anthony does go to New York,  it won't matter because Dolan will find a way to screw it up. The only reason Thomas isn't there now is because of his FIU job. But if/when he decides to leave FIU, I imagine that Dolan will welcome him with open arms.
