Is sports trivia allowed?....

This is not really sports trivia, really more like country music trivia but since Hank Williams Jr. opens each NFL game with the "Are you ready for some football?" song, I figured a question about his papi is in order.

So here it is:

What was Hank Sr.'s real first name?

(And no running to Wikipedia guys and gals.  We're not cheaters here.)

(I'll even give a big hint:  You might find the name on a bottle you have hanging around if you are a real C&W music fan.)

Come on guys (and dolls), hit those liquor cabinets.

I'm going to give the grave yard shift a chance at this too and give the answer in the AM when I get into work.

In the meantime, here's another clue:

He shares a (not very well known) name with a US President.

I'm almost giving it away now.

It is either
Sam Adams
Johnny Walker
or
Jack Daniels

Well those are the only bottles I have, but they do not hang around long.

Thank you

but no Jeopardy champions.

It is Hiram.

Like Hiram Walker (Am I the only one to drink that stuff?)

Like Hiram Ulysses Grant (18th President)

Like the Architect of Solomon's Temple, and also coincidently a drinking buddy of Solomon who was king of Phonecia.  (Ah for the old days when Jews and Arabs got along.)

Now go out there and clean up on those bar bets!

What is the minimum number of pitches a pitcher must throw to be declared the winning pitcher of a game?

(Hint:  It's been done at least once.)

The answer to my question is 6. To your question, I'm going to say zero. If I come into a tie game in relief, two out and one man on, and before I throw a pitch, the runner is picked off base, then my team scores the winning run in the bottom of the inning, I should be the winning pitcher. Right???

There was a pitcher who threw a complete no-hitter, and lost 0-1 because of a series of errors (non his). though as I recall he did walk the batter who scored.

How do you go home and explain that to the wifey?

I was going to say that it was Ken Johnson of the old Houston Colt 45's in 1964. He lost to Cincinnati on two errors, but one of them was his.

I think he had a perfect game for 12 innings and lost the game in the 13th.

men on base, the joke was "Which base?"  I don't remember who the third guy was, but two of them were Dazzy Vance and Babe Herman, which right away can give you an idea how it happened!

after five hits and two pick offs the bases are loaded and the next batter is either the third out or scores a run.  I count five, straighten me out please.

remove your hat when you speak of dem bums.

For my final exam in high school there was an essay question: "Name the three most evil men of the past hundred years and justify your answer.

I wrote: Stalin and gave a long explanation, Hitler and did the same but then wrote: "Of course, the greatest villain of all is Walter O'Mally, no explanation needed."

I past of course.

Bases loaded, two out. The batter hits a ground ball that hits a baserunner. The batter gets credit for a hit, the baserunner is called out, no run scores.
