I guess he is going to have a crew chief change starting this week.

He can't blame his lack of performance on a sub-par team anymore (DEI) as he has been with Hendrick for about a year and a half. The guy is a cool dude but he really needs to put up or shut up when it comes to his on-track performance.

Tony Eury, Jr. is the proverbial scapegoat.  Fact is, the 88 refused to use the same set-up as the 5,24 and 48.  Not sure who's bright idea that was.  Also, I can't recall seeing one driver fuck-up his pit stops as much as Jr. has so far this season.  May not be related, but it's also reflective of his poor performance again this season.

stuck up for Tony too much.  They are cousins and great friends.   I see Dale making some dumb driving mistakes in the middle of races.  He seems to lose concentration.  Daytona, Talledaga and Bristol are examples where he allowed himself to get boxed in.  Generally the really good, smart drivers: Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon - know when other drivers are pressing and they steer clear.

Rick Hendrix won't put up with this - and I'm surprised he has waited this long for the change.  I think Dale will be handed a car set up like JJ's - since both like loose cars - and told "drive it."

We'll see.  Dover is a very fast track (I was raised in that area - love the track - I go back every couple of years for this race) and you got to run the car pretty loose so you can quickly maneuver.
