I wonder how serious the Carmelo Anthony-for-Andrew Bynum trade rumors are? All the so-called "experts" are saying that it's a good possibility while the Lakers are denying it. I think it would be a huge mistake for the Lakers to trade Bynum. They need his size against the bigger centers, especially in the playoffs. Gasol isn't a true center and gets the snot beat out of him every time he goes against someone who is. Also, getting Anthony in mid-season would disrupt whatever chemistry they have and hurt them during the playoff run.
those Anthony for Bynum rumors. Granted, the Lakers haven't played well against the elite teams this year, but the advantage the Lakers have, especially during the playoffs is their size. You can't teach size. Plus the playoffs are a completely different game.
I know the Lakers would prefer Ariza to Artest. If there is any trade, which I doubt will happen, is moving Artest. I cringe every time he takes a shot, but the Lakers don't need him to shoot, just play defense.
