I agree that Braun should have kept quiet about the whole mess and worked everything with his lawyer behind the scenes. Trouble is, today's media wouldn't let him do that. His suspension was overturned, not because he was declared innocent of using PED's, but because the chain of custody was compromised. I do find it curious that he offered to offer a DNA sample to compare with the sample that was supposedly his, but MLB refused to go there. That helped clinch the arbiter's decision.

Ryan Braun has already been judged guilty in the forum of public opinion. Once you test positive for a PED in todays game, fans/media do not (and will not) give you any benefit of any doubt. The fact that his suspension was overturned, not because of an error in testing, not because his sample was blantantly opened and tampered with, but because his sample wasn't immediately placed in a Fed-Ex drop box and sat in a guys basement for 24-48 hours, only strengthen's the public belief that he is guilty and got lucky on a technicality.

Sadly, unless Braun tests positive again (he'd have to be the village idiot to let this happen), we'll never know the truth. For now, Braun will have an extremely difficult time swaying the public to believe that he is not a PED user.

So I have been hesitant to weigh in on the subject... sort of waiting for more information.

On the one hand, the technicality is clearly bullshit, for him to be proud that he "beat the rap" on this technicality is asinine and pathetic.

On the other hand, his numbers have been so consistant from day one of his career, and he has passed many other tests, leads me to believe that he may be innocent (or a spectacularly good cheater
