He just sent me a pm thanking me for sticking up for him.
I guess it follows that if he can't write, he can't read either.
I sat there for a while trying to compose him a reply, fluctuating
between a rational critique and a screaming diatribe. In the end,
I just blocked him :-)

before a troll infected it with his gibberish? Before a troll decided to use it as his own personal Twitter feed?Does anyone remember those days that there was intelligent discussion on sports here?

I check the sports boards a few times a week. There are still plenty of worthy postings that warrant discussion. As a Steeler diehard (and a big fan of pro football in general), I for one, once that season begins in earnest, will be much more active in posting and responding to current threads.

Occassionally, the unanmed person you are referencing above, does post something worth responding to. Unfortunately, his daily rants about the baseball standings (which we can all read and digest) and how New York is superior to Boston in all sports (which is patently ridiculous because any smart NY fan  realizes that Boston is a GREAT sports town and has dominated the sports landscape over this past decade) are pointless and thus he looses any minute credibility he may have established. Until he realizes this, and only chooses to post something worth responding to, there is not much you can do about it.

when one person posts and nobody wants to discuss anything with them. Sort of like talking to yourself. Most of his posts are petty and childish in nature and not worth responding to.

the class of the division. Oh really you think redsox are favorites oVER yankees. They are now down to 2 pitchers and 1 pitcher in Beckett who hasn;t been healthy in 5 years. Look at bullpen nothing sox has impresses me. Yankees even have superior starting pitching. It's possible colon can have an amazing playoff game, than what will you say. Same thing goes for burnett, hughes i have no confidance in, ok cc and lester a draw. Before we are talking about world series, redsox might have to play angels,rangers,or indians and that new kid from santo domingo might put fear in redsox armor. True redsox are smoking yankees but if they can't beat team in 2nd round, knocking yankees around means nothing. I am confidant we will smoke redsox. the patriots jets talk  i will go there in a mth. I LOVE NYC.

I figure if I didn't reply to his first 3 pm's, he would be smart enough to take the hint. When he didn't, I had to put him on the Ignore List.
