Long time assistant to Greg Popovich, Budenholzer  beat out Steve Kerr and Jason Kidd. Seems about right, since Kerr inherited the Warriors from Mark Jackson.

But, I'm sure he's not too sad. Phil Jackson won 8 championships and only won Coach of the Year once. I think Steve Kerr would rather win championships. The rational for Budenholzer was he's only a second year head coach and had the second best record in the NBA this year. What am I missing here!?!?
