Grumbling about Grambling

I stopped in to see some friends earlier tonight and they had college football on TV. When I was there, it was the Grambling State halftime.
.
I remember watching the Grambling marching band on TV when I was a kid, watching football with the grownups. I even went on to play in HS concert band, marching band, and orchestra. There's a photo of me from my marching band days, below.
.
Grambling was GREAT back then with precision moves and fancy tilting and twisting and excellent music, too.  Trombonists marching in sync, swinging back and forth and making wild moves in sync, sliding their slides in sync. PRECISE! Impressive!

Well, this evening, the Grambling marching band was TERRIBLE! Lines were crooked. The drum majors were out of sync and unevenly spaced. I don't even know what song or songs they were playing.  Instrument players had crooked lines and were out of step. More than one guy would stop short or another guy would take an extra step and they'd end up out of line. There was a small troupe of female dancers who were also out of sync and misaligned. (And some were a little too flabby and that's not the kind of jiggling I want to see from cheerleaders and dancers.)

What is the marching band world coming to!?!?
.
But that's why I'm grumbling about Grambling.

Some band programs have lost there way because of poort leadership and for some it is a funding issue.
