ESPN is reporting that Jeff Fisher will be fired as Titans head coach. The source was SI.com, which added that they had no official confirmation. If he is fired, wonder if Vince Young will stay at Tennessee.

I wonder who will pick up Fisher?  He recruited someone i know last year so i doubt they will keep him in Tenessee either

I think media/fans portray Jeff Fisher as a better coach (prob. because he has been at one place for 16 full seasons) than his record would indicate. He only took his team to the playoffs 6 times in 16 years. (very low percentage) In 10 of his seasons, the Titans won 8 games or less. He took the Titans to two AFC Championship games and 1 Super Bowl. I think he's been a good coach, but his record indicates nothing spectacular

Fisher is often compared to Bill Cowher (as Cowher was in Pittsburgh for 15 years and their careers, to a large part overlapped). Cowher guided the Steelers to 10 playoff appeareances, 6 AFC Championship games, 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 Super Bowl victory. Only 4 times did the Steelers during Cowher's tenure fail to win more than 8 games. Suffice it say, Cowher was far more successful than Fisher.

Some fans in Tennessee were wondering, when it looked like Fisher was staying, why the Titans released Vince Young and not fired Fisher back then. Now they are starting over with a new coach and looking for a new QB.
