The Dwight Howard summer soap opera appears to be over. ESPN is reporting that Howard is going to the Lakers in a 4-team trade that will send, among others, Andrew Bynum to the Sixers. And, once again, the rich get richer.
as the pressure will be off him to score at the end of games since he has Kobe and others to handle that-He was an offensive liability for the Magic at the end of close contests due to his wretched free throw shooting-He'll help the Lakers and can concentrate on his forte, which is clogging up the middle, rebounding and defense-Bynum was apparently becoming a cancer in the locker room and sending him on his way was likely a good thing-later, Buddy 1rob...out
Hi Rob. One of the concerns when the Lakers got Steve Nash was Nash's defensive liability. Now Howard should help cancel that out and let Nash concentrate on running the offense.
as a magic fan, im glad to see him go, and glad that we took a trade that will somewhat allow us to rebuild, not just be a middle of the road team each year. we should be AWFUL this year, and get a top 3 pick, followed by another top 8 or so pick. do things the OKC way, not the celtics way ( the original go all out to win move, before the heat).
about the lakers though. what is the window? 2 years? kobe is getting old, nash has been old. gasol isnt young anymore. in 4 years, when dwight is the only one left, how is that team looking? right now i would take a team of james, wade, bosh, allen, chalmers, haslem, lewis and miller over howard, gasol, bryant, artest, nash and jamison. im not thinking LA gets a title with this core. reminds me too much of when they brought in malone and payton and LOST.
