I'm on the NFL site, something that shouldn't be allowed but it's the internet so nothing you can do. I was just looking at win - loses, yea I noticed Kansas City at 4 - 5, let's not go there. But at the bottom of the page was Saint Louis at 2 - 7, damn that's where I usually find the 49'ers.
To my surprise they are 8 - 1. Eight and 1, hell the world's best, the Packers are 9 - 0. Where in the hell did that 8 - 1 come from.
So I had to click on "San Francisco" to check there schedule and see who they beat. A loss to Dallas but they did beat the Eagles, Detroit and the Giants. I did notice they play the Ravens and Steelers.
Oh well, probably aren't that many 49'er fans of note. However they could afford two loses and still take the NFC West. Maybe even 3 or 4 loses, but what would playoffs look like. Just a thought.
Jim H put together that Stanford team and now he's kicking ass with the 49'ers and the Ravens are the Ravens. Their father was a coach for over 40 years too. I saw a thing the other day that was talking about the trio. They both fedex the old man game film on the coming week's opponents and he helps provide input on weaknesses to attack. They also share info on opponents and past game plans.
It will be fun to see how they plan against each other two weeks from now.
good point about coaching. It's amazing how fast a team can turn around with good coaching. I do think it's more than the head coach. It's the coaching staff. How well they work together. Their ability to get the most out of the talent they have.
The organization has a lot to do with this also. Teams that always seem to have this like Green Bay, Steelers, Patriots, Colts (normal years). Even the Chargers, Ravens, Giants and maybe the Cowboys and I hate to say this but the Jets to some extent usually field a good team.
I wrote the post kind of tounge in cheek, but it's good to see the 49'ers playing well. They had some great teams back in the day. After all 8 - 1 is still 8 wins on 8 different Sundays.
I don't think they can go that far in the post season but, "That's why they play the game."
in fewest points-per-game allowed. As for Smith, I think Harbaugh has simplified the playbook and isn't putting him in a position to fail. It doesn't hurt to have Frank Gore, Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree on the team.
