In UGA's defense about last night. UGA did face a legitimate #5 ranked BSU team that has most of it's major parts intact from last year. I think BSU would give any team a battle right now, and keep in mind that UGA was basically a home town dog, so no one should be surprised they lost last night.

I'll agree with you on your main point, Richt's days are almost certainly numbered, mediocrity is just not acceptable in Athens.

Most definitely his last !! The team has too many off the field problems and Richt can't recruit if his life depended on it. It's not who he recruits but where he recruits from.Richt recruits alot from FL because he's from Florida but he misses too many recruits fromhis own state of GA. In 6-7 yrs he's got what ? 1 or 2 sec championships and no national championships. Every other major SEC team--FL , Bama, LSU , Auburn , and even TN -- has a RECENT championship except for him.NUFF SAID lol.

No Doubt !  A kid like Ricky Dobbs was right in Douglasville and Richt never gave him a look. Yeah, Dobbs wasn't a Georgia type QB but he was still one of hell of a football player.

Gug, I think you're wrong about Richt's inability to recruit. The recruiting services rate his classes in the Top 5 to Top 10 year in and year out. But it's like Spurrier said, "They get good football players every year. We just don't know what happens to them when they get there."
My opinion is like a lot of other folks in this area. They need to be more business-like on the field, (see Alabama), and cut out all the woofing and dancing every time they stop a runner for a 2 yard gain. Major lack of discipline in the program!

Richt was a back up at U of Miami to a guy who was a throwback, whiskey drinking, skirt chasing, party animal off the field but all business on the field and that guy is now in the NFL HOF. Richt is the exact opposite and is now in the crosshairs of the De facto owners of a college football program, the boosters.
