The Say Hey Kid turns 80 years young today. He was arguably the best overall player of his era and had all of the tools, running, throwing, hitting for average and power, and playing center field defense. Hope you have many more birthdays Willie.

Willie was my favorite player when I was growing up. I played centerfield for my Babe Ruth league team and "mastered" the basket catch so I could be like him! LOL!

All of what you stated, Sailor-great speed and had he not played in the wretched, cold and windswept Candlestick park for much of his career, would have been in the hunt for most all time homers-The juiced Bonds was a great player, but couldn't carry Mays' jock, IMHO-1rob....out
