Suspend Dempster when it does not matter as Red Sox have a day off this week.  Dempster gets full pay, but an unannounced fine.

I am no arod fan but I wish it was the good old days when in the parking lot arod would have made him his bitch. Arod won the day, the pitcher looked like a pussy.

And this has nothing to do with A-Rod and how MLB or public see him..

Last year Cole Hamels hit Bryce Harper on purpose in the back. I mean c'mon 19 yr old kid he was last May, and got suspended 5 days, but that's effective only 1 start. After which, Harper stole home to score a run, BTW. Nats lost the game but that was some payback.  

They should make the suspension 5 starts for hitting the batter, not 5 games.

Listen to what Mark Cuban said about Selig, A-Rod the 214 day suspension. I despise A-Rod as much as anyone, but why is his suspension greater than the other players, whether it's a 1st offense or even a 2nd offense.

Apparently 4. MLB pitchers are really really good. It doesn't take 4 pitches to drill someone. If he hits A-Rod on the 1st pitch, he gets a warning and the game continues.

You do know pitchers intentionally hitting batters has been around since the beginning of baseball.

Here is a story for you. Walter Alston, Manager of the Dodgers goes to the mound to talk to Don Drysdale. This was in the mid-60s. He told Drysdale to intentionally walk the next batter. Did Drysdale throw 4 wide ones? NO! He hit the batter in the back with a 95 mile pitch. At the end of the inning Alston asked Drydale why he hit the batter. Drysdale said something like, "why waste 4 pitches when I can accomplish the same thing with one pitch".

I root for the Dodgers. I can see someone hitting Yasiel Puig just like I can see someone hitting Harper.

Guess Dempster wasn't counting a on providing the spark.

That was everyone dumping on A-rod: MLB, the Umps, the player's union and his own teammates.  

Dempster is a huge union guy and I laughed at how both teams (huge rivals) just strolled out onto the field: no one wanted to scrap over that rat A-Rod.  

If it were anyone else (Captain Derek or Big Papi or Pedroia) and a pitcher threw behind him 3 times all hell would have broken loose. But it never would have happened. After the second throw behind there would have been a benches clearing puches thrown brawl. And, revenge later no matter what the fine or punishment would have been.
