BREAKING NEWS! NBA announces new finals playoff format...

Starting this year, if the score is tied at the end of the seventh game of the NBA finals, the teams will play two six-minute overtime periods.  Even if one team is ahead at the end of the first overtime period, the second overtime period is mandatory.

If the teams are tied at the end of the second overtime period, the game will be decided by a free throw contest.  Five players from each team will alternate shooting free throws.  If one team makes more free throws, they are the NBA champions.  If they are tied after the five free throws, the teams continue alternating free throws until one team misses and the other makes it, making that team the NBA champion.

That sounds like a pretty stupid way to decide the NBA champion, doesn't it?  Of course the NBA isn't going to do that.  Yet that is exactly how the World Cup champion in soccer is determined.  What an idiotic way to decide a world championship!!!
