I saw this movie today, and recomend it to all.  It tells a great true story and with one exception at the beginning, is really worth seeing.  The one part is something I happened to see when it happened, and I really don't like to remember it.  If you are at odds over something to do, go see the movie.

I second Sarge's suggestion. I've seen it twice!

how much I enjoyed it. It has a "chick-flick" feeling that is overcome by a great story.

Another movie for White people to feel good about themselves, saving a poor, down-trodden Black person.

How bout a great example of one family of human beings helping out another human being?
I think I read the exact same quote you used from some jackass reviewer who trashed both the movie and the real life story.
Gotta love the negativity of some people in this country.

That's BULLSHIT!  It's a true story, and the fact is that the aid provided to this guy helped him become a success in life.  Would you have preferred that he remain down-trodden and hopeless?

The point is that out of ALL the people in the country who help others, THIS is the story that gets made into a movie. Rich White family helps poor, downtrodden Black kid.

That THIS story becomes a movie is no accident - it's propaganda.

Also, do you think it's an accident that Blind Side and Precious came out at the same time? One movie to show how bad Black people are, the other movie to show White people saving the Blacks from themselves...

Oh the Thanksgiving compassion you have.
Frankly I think you should have waited until
January 15th to make that comment.

Happy Thanksgiving.......yes even to you

I have no idea whether it's propaganda or white guilt, but this Bill Burr clip about the same topic is funny and spot on.

Brilliant analysis as to why the movie was made.

White people saving poor black child because of guilt.

The fact that the poor black child became a starter in the NFL has nothing to to with it's appeal.

Yup, it's all about racism. Great insight, Pitt

It is all about racism, all the white folks feel guilty about being plantation owners, yada, yada, yada.  Myself I come from a Irish Jewish background, (yeah I know, odd mix) but if you want to talk about oppression, slavery, genocide, etc that goes back thousands of years look at those groups.

Why make a movie about a white family helping a poor black kid? Maybe we should wait until Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton does something more noble than just blow a lot of hot air.

Actions speak louder than words
Oy, some folks you just can't please

Should I feel guilt that my father's nurse tonight was black, or should I take comfort that he's in the hands of a capable professional?

I didn't think that I was enslaving the nurse.  I was happy that my mother could get some sleep for the first time in 2 weeks.
