Bet on the Steelers to win last year's Superbowl last August...regular_smile

at 24-1 odds in Vegas. Won $1250. Made the same bet last Monday, in Vegas, at 9-1. Will get $500 after next February.

Been a Steelers fan for 30+ years, and did it for loyalty purposes. But was nice to collect!

Anybody else make a similar bet on the Steelers, or another team, and make a similar payday on a $50 bet?

...for the Kentucky Derby, getting 30, 40 or 50 to 1 for a horse that may go off at 5-1 on Derby Day.

Of course, you have a choice of ALL the prospective entrants and only 20 max run in the Derby, so you may bet on a horse that doesn't even run. SOL in that case.

Congrats on the Steelers.  I'm sure it helped defray expenses for your recent trip.

30-1 odds even though they were in first place and on a roll at the time.  Almost got there, but those danged Phillies cost me $3K!  Now I hate them as much as the Red Sux and Mets!
