I didn't see the double standard

Hi mrfisher!

Hi Mrs_OSP! "Prostitution should be legalized and regulated at the FEDERAL level!"  I have to laugh out loud every time I read a statement like this. If you put the Federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, they would run out of sand within 6 months. Seriously though, who are they going to name the award after now? Are they going to recall all past award plaques/trophies and remove her name?

Suzy Favor most certainly still has and keeps the three consecutive Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year Awards she earned in 1988, 1989, and 1990.

Subsequent to her collegiate and Olympic career, the Big Ten named the award after her.  This latest news you highlight speaks the Big Ten removing her name from the award, NOT taking her awards from her

Evidently, the Big 10 now has a history of reneging on the naming of things (i.e. Legends and Leaders).

I'm not quite sure where the double standard is you speak of.  If Jesse Owens had acknowledged some involvement in activities the general public frowned upon, I am sure his name would be removed from the male version of this award too.

That being said, I feel the Big 10 is well within it's right's to do what they did.  Had they actually stripped her of her three awards (1988, 1989, 1990), then there should be an outcry.
